Xuanxue (Chinese: 玄学 or Neo-Taoism is a sub-discipline of Confucianism and Taoism, its main theme is to study the very nature of being, similar to ontology while not being the Chinese counterpart of it. Literally speaking, Xuanxue is the study of the deep, profound or meta-nature of being or not being, Tao, etc.
