ENQUIRY
The so called "Glazed Roof Tile" Village used to have many imperial kilns in the entire village. The 700 years old village has served golden and green roof tiles for the Forbidden City and Summer Palace in Ming and Qing Dynasties; and the tiles for the Great Hall of People & Mao's Maosoleum in the Tiananmen Square. Now the tradition is kept. Family kilns are still available and in use (the kilns are working except in winter).

Drive to this village in Mentougou, south suburb of Beijing, walk around in the village to see family kilns, little temples and other heritages, then hike along the hill in the back of the village to the summit and have a bird eye view of the surrounding landscapes-Yongding River and mountains and trees.

The hike is quite easy, no steep climbing. We will have lunch before heading back to Beijing.
